The Japan Prize established by NHK is an International Educational Contest which currently targets not only TV programmes but also other linear content, websites, educational games and other interactive products with audio visual contents.
Sri Lankan producers, broadcasters, publishers and educators are encouraged to enter their productions or proposals to the Japan Prize.

The Yamagato Banto Prize was eatablished in 1982 by Osaka Prefectural Government of Japan in honour of Mr Yamagato Banto, Osaka’s Internationally renowned scholar of the late Edo period.
The prize is awarded to an author outside of Japan who has contributed to increase international understanding of Japanese culture.

The Ie-No-Hikari Association of Japan has been holding the World Children’s Picture contest as part of their cultural activities since 1993. Children of the ages of 6 to 15 years are eligible to apply for this contest.

UNESCO and the GOI Peace Foundation annually organize the International Essay Contest for Young People.
Essay may be submitted by anyone up to the age of 25 years. Essay must consist of 800 words or less in English, French, Spanish or German; or 1600 character or less in Japanese, type or printed.
Schools, youth organizations as well as individual participants from Sri Lanka are encouraged to participate in this essay contest.
