1. The Applicant must obtain an unmarried certificate forwarding an affidavit certified by a Lawyer/Justice of Peace of his/her presently residing area in Sri Lanka.
2. The affidavit should be endorsed by the Registrar of the Ministry of Justice in Sri Lanka and thereafter certified by the Consular Affairs Division of the Ministry of External Affairs in Sri Lanka.
3. When the original of this certified document is produced to the Embassy with his/her valid passport and his/her Birth Certificate, a Bachelor Certificate will be issued to the applicant to be submitted to the City Office (Shiyakusho).
4. If the applicants are divorcees, divorce certificates should be submitted.
